Expense Projections
What is it? The estimated cost of owning a mutual fund expressed in dollars. The Securities and Exchange Commission requires mutual funds to disclose in the prospectus total cost projections for one-, three-, five-, and 10-year periods based on an initial investment of $1,000. The assumptions are that the fund returns 5% annually and that you sell the fund at the end of each time period. Any front-end or back-end loads, as well as all annual expenses including management fees, 12b-1 fees, and other expenses are included. Taxes are not part of the calculation. Expense projections are useful for comparing the costs of owning different mutual funds or different classes of mutual funds. Actual expenses may be higher or lower than the projections.Added By: Nathaniel
