GDR

What is it? A receipt for foreign stock held in trust in a bank. It is a vehicle that lets people easily invest in a foreign company. A GDR ? or global depositary receipt -- allows a company to issue depositary receipts in two or more markets at the same time. In the United States GDRs are often the same as ADRs, or American depositary receipts.
