Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)

What is it? A type of health care plan that offers a two-tiered approach. Patients pay a low deductible and little or no copayments for visits to approved physicians and hospitals. Patients can also choose to visit non-approved physicians and hospitals in which case they must pay higher copayments.
