Share Repurchase Programs
What is it? A program in which a company goes into the open market to repurchase a fraction of its current shares outstanding. This is generally viewed as a positive sign by investors as the company is returning excess cash that it can not invest at above-market rates to shareholders. By reducing the number of shares outstanding, earnings per share will rise (assuming that the companys earnings remain at the same level or increase).Added By: Maya
